IMF Holds its Annual Spring Meeting Online

IMF annual spring meeting (IMF-MENAP) was held online on Thursday, April 01, 2021 where a large number of the world’s central banks governors, Ministries of Finance and a number of academic personalities participated.

At the outset, senior IMF officials discussed over important global economic developments, particularly devastating effects of the corona virus outbreak on the world economy, global economic outlook, financial stability, unemployment and impacts of international aids.

Mr. Ajmal Ahmady, Acting Governor of Da Afghanistan discussed economic issues of Afghanistan, transition from the corona virus pandemic, implementation of Afghanistan's joint economic programs with IMF, especially quantitative goals aimed at strengthening macroeconomic stability and other economic variables such as inflation, balance of Payments, economic growth and foreign exchange reserves of the country. Furthermore, Mr. Ahmady also addressed the implementation of structural reforms in financial and banking system of the country.
