Acting Governor of DAB presented the Procedure on Supporting the SMEs to the High Economic Council

March 10, 2021 – The meeting of the High Economic Council was held under the chairmanship of His Excellency Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. In this meeting, beside discussions on different economic issues implementation of incentive package for SMEs was also discussed.

Mr. Ajmal Ahmady, the acting Governor of DAB presented the procedure on Supporting the Small and Medium Enterprises. Mr. Ahmady said that this procedure has been prepared in four Chapters and 23 Articles to provide financial and monetary support to SMEs, increase support for women entrepreneurs, provide immediate support and found long-term organizational support structures for SMEs.

The High Economic Council approved the aforementioned procedure and assigned tasks to the relevant organizations to clearly classify those SMEs that have been negatively affected by Covid-19, and prepare and implement a procedure on how to manage the financial aid in the provinces.

The President assigned the Ministry of Finance to include the required budget for supporting the SMEs in the mid-year budget.
