DAB First Deputy Governor Meets with the Chairman of the AACC to Enhance Banking and Trade Ties
June 09, 2026— First Deputy Governor of Da Afghanistan Bank, Mr. Sediqullah Khalid, met with the Chairman of the Afghanistan–America Chamber of Commerce (AACC), Mr. Jeffrey Grieco.
During the meeting, both sides discussed important issues regarding the development of banking relations among Afghanistan’s commercial banks, the expansion of trade, the enhancement of investment opportunities, and further strengthening of the banking sector.
Furthermore, DAB First Deputy Governor, Mr. Sediqullah Khalid, stated that DAB is committed not only to building a stable and robust banking system but also to fostering constructive cooperation with all domestic and international institutions to support the private sector and boost trade.
In addition, Mr. Khalid added that strengthening the banking sector and fostering private sector growth are among the key foundations of Afghanistan’s economic development and achieving sustainable prosperity.
At the outset of the meeting, both sides discussed a number of important issues, including addressing traders’ banking challenges, electronic banking, international money transfers, improving financial services, and strengthening economic activities in Afghanistan.
It is worth mentioning that the CEO of the Afghanistan Banks’ Association, Mr. Najibullah Amiri, along with DAB’s Deputy Director of Banking Supervision and Financial Services, Mr. Ihsanullah Mansoor, also attended the meeting.
