DAB Supreme Council Holds its Third Periodic Meeting in 2020

September 20, 2020- The Supreme Council of Da Afghanistan Bank, being the highest decision making body of the bank, held its third annual periodic meeting of year 2020.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ajmal Ahmady, the acting Governor of Da Afghanistan Bank and the Chairperson of the Supreme Council.The meeting was held online where the members of Supreme Council discussed the economic situation of Afghanistan, monetary policy implementation, banking system performance, financial system of the country, and other administrative issues pertaining to the bank.

Members of the Supreme Council discussed and provided insight into the related issues and made the necessary decisions on the improvement of the performances of Da Afghanistan Bank, and the banking and financial system of the country.

Supreme Council of DAB is composed of seven members and the Governor of Da Afghanistan Bank serves as the Chairperson of the Council.  The Supreme Council is responsible to develop overall policies of DAB and supervise its administration and operations.

The meetings of the Supreme Council are held on a quarterly basis to discuss and exchange views on different policy-making issues, activity planning, performances, and achievements of the bank.
